National Godly Play conference - 7th - 10th July 2012, Nunyara Conference Centre

A new way of presenting the Gospel message to children has begun around the world. We are privileged to have one of the Godly Play centres for South Australia.

‘Godly Play’ is an imaginative approach to exploring sacred stories with children using reflection, religious language and silence to allow them to find meaning and to grow in faith.

Tea Tree Gully Uniting Church are the first Uniting Church in Adelaide to commence this program each Sunday and to provide basic training for our leaders.

‘Godly Play’ ministers to the children at their level, where they are at in life and in faith. It allows them to explore more freely and openly We use materials to tell the story so it is very visual and then the children are free to choose an activity which they use to explain the story in their way. This allows leaders to interact with each child in regards to what the child’s questions or comments are. Leaders have been given basic training on how it is run and how we have implemented it in our Church.
