Free after-school access to computers and the internet for students.
Small Cinema available for community groups.
The Media Centre aims to be a safe place of learning and fun for
youth, providing access to computers, the internet and a multimedia
cinema.
Our objectives are to:
To provide free after-school access to computers and the internet
for disadvantaged students.
To provide a safe place for youth to study and relax.
To help increase students learning opportunities by providing
study and research facilities.
To continue to build strong relationships between schools, teachers,
students and parents.
To provide a multimedia suite for training, socialising and
networking.
The Media Centre is open to children and youth in our community
in school term. It is also available for group bookings outside of
these times for community groups in the area.

Location, Location, Location!
The Media Centre is uniquely situated between five
primary schools and one high school within a two kilometre radius.
For many years the church at Tea Tree Gully has been active in working
with students, teachers and parents in the area through programs,
youth group activities and supporting our local Christian Pastoral
Support Workers (CPSW).
A Common Hope
Tea Tree Gully Council has supported the Media Centre by the donation
of $13,000 through the Community Grants program in 2010. They, like
us, are committed in giving our young people a ‘fair go’ to achieve
the best results they can at school.
Economics & Learning
Most of us recognise the growing financial strain families are under
in the community. The Media Centre is particularly concerned for children
and youth whose education is affected by our current economic crisis.
We are aware there are students who are disadvantaged or unable to
do their research and homework due to limited access to computers
or the internet.
Pancakes = Learning
For the last six years, TTGUC has provided a free pancake
breakfast on Wednesdays to students at Banksia Park International
High School. This was out of concern for students not eating breakfast
which maybe impacting their school performance including alertness,
participation, attention span, concentration, mood, note-taking and
test-taking.
Uniting Community
Tea Tree Gully Uniting Church is a community organisation passionate
about access to quality education inside and outside of schools. We
have a long history of establishing and supporting schools across
the City of Tea Tree Gully and remain committed to meeting the ongoing
needs of students in the community.
